    Job Responsibilities:

    • Medical case review
    • Negotiating and settling cases in the pre-litigation stage
    • Review policies, claims and other records
    • Prepare, write, and argue legal documents, including but not limited to memos, theory of liability and demands
    • Communicate with insurance companies and make sure client medical treatment is managed and billed accordingly
    • Communicate with clients to provide case status update
    • Conduct intake meetings with new clients
    • Manage docket of cases according to office policy
    • Conduct and attend IME's, EUO's and recorded statements
    • Exercise a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism

    Licensure:

    • Must be currently licensed in the state of Ohio and in good standing

    Skills and Abilities:

    • Must have experience in personal injury law of a minimum of 2-5 years
    • Strong negotiation, communication and writing skills
    • Intermediate to advanced-level computer and general office skills; strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to effectively communicate through both verbal and written electronic correspondence
    • Demonstrate an ability to analyze corrective action opportunities and present recommendations
    • Analytical skills and attention to detail

    The Buckeye Law Group, a dynamic and rapidly growing personal injury law firm, seeks a highly motivated and passionate Legal Case Manager to join our team in Akron.

     

    Role: 

    The Legal Case Manager works directly with clients, third parties, providers, and insurance companies. They are responsible for handling fact-finding projects, and gathering and organizing documents and information. The Legal Case Manager should be comfortable in an office environment, familiar with Microsoft Office applications, and excel at verbal and written communication.


    Chief Responsibilities:

    • Maintain communication with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties involved in the case.
    • Prepare/Mail Welcome packets, address and report client concerns/issues related to the personal injury case.
    • Monitors case status, timelines, deadlines, and issues
    • Promotes relationships with clients and providers.
    • Gathering/organizing all records, bills, liens related to the accident, confirming the accuracy of the charges and balances, providing health insurance and auto insurance (PIP) to providers in a timely manner.
    • Safeguard client records while maintaining HIPAA standards.
    • Ensure that all final medical records are organized neatly, accurate, and complete.
    • Prepare Demand packages or transfer files to litigation.
    • Create digital copies of paperwork and store the records electronically.
    • Process invoices for payments and make sure for which they are accounted.
    • Transfer data into the company’s main system database

    Supporting Responsibilities:

    • Opening insurance claims including but not limited to subrogation, property damage or Veteran Affairs, Child support and probate court
    • Additional duties as assigned by management

    Experience/Requirements:

    • Bilingual Spanish speaking preferred
    • High school/GED diploma required.
    • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
    • Strong customer service skills.
    • Legal experience required, personal injury experience preferred
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
    • Ability to manage a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to communicate with clients and co-workers effectively and efficiently.
